Snetterton

Snetterton has undergone perhaps the most radical transformation of all the MotorSport Vision circuits since being taken over in 2004.

With a bright, clean feel, new spectator banking and improved restaurant facilities, fans are flocking back to East Anglia’s premier sporting venue. The improvements aren’t just limited to the general public either, as Snetterton boasts some of the best facilities for competitors in the country, including a superb scrutineering bay.

The 2008 calendar features all the top UK race series, as the British F3/GT championships, British Superbike Championship and British Touring Cars all tackle Snetterton’s mix of long straights and super-fast corners.

Easter weekend is set to be a highlight, with the teams and riders of the British Superbike Championship making their first public appearance ahead of the season at the official BSB launch weekend.

History of Snetterton

The first race meeting at Snetterton was arranged in 1951 by the Aston Martin Owner's Club. The track had been cobbled together from a network of runways, which formed the wartime base of the 96th US Air Force Bomber Group.

The circuit configuration has changed greatly since then, shortening a lap to just under two miles.

Most recently, a host of Le Mans 24 Hour cars have been developed at the Norfolk track, including Bentley’s first Le Mans car for 70 years, the EXP Speed Eight. The all-conquering Audi R8 and Williams BMW LMP were all spotted first at Snetterton.
